If the second semester of 2023 was characterized as a “transition period” from the traditional educational model to a more modern approach incorporating information and communication technologies, then the first semester of 2024 will mark the beginning of a significant technological upgrade in our classrooms and knowledge-sharing environments.
To this end, our institute has modernized its facilities to enhance the teaching process. Classrooms are now equipped with smart TVs and internet access. In support of this transition, both our teachers and third-semester students have been provided with laptops for lesson preparation and delivery. This change is aimed at creating more dynamic and digital learning spaces, moving away from traditional blackboards and markers.
The technological upgrade at IUTA JHS also includes the implementation of a comprehensive Study Control package. This integrated system will handle all phases of academic administration—admission, retention, and graduation—while tracking grades and attendance for both students and faculty, and ensuring alignment with academic planning and objectives. The equipment has been purchased and will be put into operation in the near future, allowing us to evaluate its effectiveness before the first semester of 2024 begins.
Additionally, the technology update involves upgrading our internet service to support distance learning. This will enable us to host masterclasses with experts on specific topics, providing continuous updates to our teachers and students without needing their physical presence, thus reducing costs and boosting performance.
Starting in the first quarter of 2024, internet usage will be managed to serve both academic and recreational purposes. Specific times and free Wi-Fi zones will be designated for use by students, teachers, and staff.
Finally, we are 70% ready for our III Expo Feria, where our students will demonstrate their career progress. This year, the event will be extended to four days, from February 20 to 23, to give Group JHS executives, special guests, family members, and the broader community the opportunity to see what our students have achieved.
We remain committed to advancing the professional development of our students.
